Q. What are these kits?
A. The Book Club In A Bag, consists of 8 copies of the same book, a discussion guide (including questions) and a discussion leader's tracking sheet, contained in one easy to carry bag. Everything you need for your book club meeting!

Q. How do I borrow a kit?
A. You can borrow a kit with your library card. The borrower is responsible for all items in the kit.

Q. How do I reserve a kit?
A. All of the kits are listed here and in the catalogue under the call number "Book Club Set". You can put a reservation on any kit, as you would for any book. If you need help with the reservation process call 519-621-0460 and ask for the information desk, or click here. To search by call number, go to the drop down menu by "Title" and click on "Call Number".

Q. I want to reserve a kit for a year from now, is that possible?
A. No.

Q. Can I have a kit sent to my home branch?
A. Yes. Kits can be sent to any branch of Cambridge Libraries & Galleries for pick up.

Q. How long can I keep a kit?
A. Kits may be borrowed for six weeks.

Q. Can I extend that loan?
A. No.

Q. What if I keep the kit out longer than the due date?
A. We encourage borrowers to return their kits on time. If however the item is returned late, the borrower will be charged a fee of $2.00 per day, to a maximum of $16.00, until the complete kit is returned.

Q. If someone in my book club loses a copy of the book, am I responsible?
A. The borrower is responsible for all items in the kit. Incomplete kits will remain on the borrower's card until all items are returned to the library.

Q. What happens if I can't find a copy of the book or if I lose the kit?
A. The borrower of the kit will be charged a replacement fee of $8.00 per book and $13.00 for the bag. If the entire kit is lost, the replacement fee is $80.00. ($75.00 plus a $5.00 processing charge).

Q. Can I return the kit through the book drop?
A. Kits can only be returned in person, to any branch of the Cambridge Libraries and Galleries. Our locations and hours of operation are here.
